New Junior Recreation Facilities:
The new play equipment is now open!
Following on from recent consultation with residents, OPC has approved the use of £60,00 of s106 contributions being held by Hart DC to create junior recreational facilities at the Recreation Ground. Two Cllrs visited Mayhill Junior School and Buryfields Infant School to engage with the pupils about possible equipment before following a formal tender process. The report was shared with the committee during the February 2018 meeting. A formal tender will be added to Contracts Finder shortly with a closing date of 23 March 2018.
9 April 2018 - Details of the 7 tenders were reviewed by the amenity committee and it was agreed to appoint contractor 6. Cllr Hale was designated to work with them to investigate the proposal further and to consult with the wider community, including the target users and bring a final recommendation back to the committee at the next meeting for approval.
14 May 2018 - The amenity committee received a report on Cllr Hales' investigations and agreed to proceed with option B, with the slide and to ask the contractor to remove the sides from the shelter and to try and place it between the current and new play area.
29 June 2018 - The works to the new junior play area are about to begin, hopefully not causing too much disruption. It is hoped that the new play area will be completed by the end of July 2018.
