Odiham parish council has a vacancy working from our modern offices in the centre of Odiham for an Administrator.

The role is for 15 hours per week (to be agreed), split over a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and includes attending our evening planning and traffic and transport committee meetings. The range of responsibilities will be quite wide but will include preparing agendas, recording and writing minutes for both the planning and traffic and transport committee meetings, all associated admin works for these committees, project work and liaising with Hart District Council and the general public.

The successful applicant will have excellent computer skills and the ability to use email as a key tool of communication. The ideal candidates will also be able to demonstrate excellent administrative and communication skills as well as being able to plan and manage the workload in order of priority using their own initiative to meet deadlines. They will need to be proactive and motivated and able to demonstrate an ability to work constructively and accurately with a wide variety of stakeholders. An interest in local government is desirable.

The closing date for applications is 1 March 2019 and initial interviews will be held shortly afterwards.

The rate of pay will be in the range of LC3 and 7 (£9.39 – £10.16 per hour) according to qualifications and experience. We are offering 21 days annual leave pro-rata plus bank holidays and membership to the Local Government Pension Scheme. There will also be an opportunity for the Administrator to complete The Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) qualification.
