Recreation Areas & Playgrounds

Recreation Areas

The Parish Council has three recreation areas in the villages each containing a children’s play area. There are 2 additional play areas in North Warnborough at Bufton Fields and Chapel Pond Drive which are maintained by Hart District Council.

Recreation Ground, Recreation Road, Odiham

The recreation ground contains a play area suitable for a large age group from pre-school upwards. It was installed in 2000.

There is also a basketball/netball enclosure and goal posts for football. At the top of the recreation ground there is a building which currently houses Leapfrogs Pre-School.

Chamberlain Gardens.

This area, adjacent to the Church, was gifted to the Odiham Sports Centre Trust, of which the Parish Council is trustee, by its owners in 1948. It contains a play area for the under 11 age group which has recently been replaced and was officially opened on 12 October 2006.

North Warnborough Recreation Ground, Hook Road.

This small recreation area contains swings, a see-saw and rocking horse located near its entrance.

Tennis Courts

These are located off Buryfields, near Chamberlain Gardens. There are 2 courts, one which is for the exclusive use of the tennis club and one which is available to the public. The current rate for the court is £4 per hour. It can be booked by contacting Mr John Steward of 8a Gurney Court on 01256 702969. For more information on the tennis club, please contact the secretary Lesley Lee on 01256 703292.
